"The Teacher as a Warm Defender"

Has anyone read this article in the September 2008 issue of Educational Leadership? My principal passed it onto me, thinking it directly connected to our work. It's a very good article and supplies some good references. Karon

Hi Karon,
Yes, the whole issue centers around the "Positive Classroom." Everyone in our school read the "Power of our Words" article. It was written by Paula Denton who has written a book by the same name...She is from Responsive Classroom.
I know its an older issue (but I save everything)- The Ed Leadership from March 2003 is all about Creating Caring Schools. There were a lot of great articles in that magazine as well. The articles are available using online resources like Education Full Text, if anyone is interested in reading them.
